ADMINISTRATION UPDATE
Dear CCS Friends and Families,
We hope this finds you and your family well and warm as winter is settling in! Our students have appreciated being able to play in a little bit of snow at recess so early in the year! As we get deeper into the winter months, please remember to send your students with proper gear for recess. Backup clothes, shoes and socks are also not a bad idea - students go out on most days.
December is always full of many special events that enhance student experiences here at CCS. This week is certainly an example of that!
- On Monday, students in Grade 5 traveled to the Flynn Theater for an “awesome” performance by the Mayhem Poets.
- On Thursday, students in Grades K-4 were treated to a performance by a musical duo from Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. This performance was the inception of a partnership with Young Tradition Vermont sponsored by a CVSD innovation grant - stay tuned for future events related to this exciting partnership!
- Today, our CCS staff was treated to a delicious luncheon sponsored by the PTO - this quarterly event is always a hit with our teachers!
- On Saturday, our CCS PTO will be hosting our annual Holiday Market from 10:00 - 2:00.
- On Sunday, our CCS Lego Robotics team will travel to Norwich University to compete in the annual FIRST® LEGO® League (FLL) Vermont State Championship, a “sports for the mind” robotics competition for 9- to 14-year-olds. Good luck to our CCS Lego Robotics team!
Families of students in 5-8th grades should have received an email with their child’s Jumprope Report for the first marking period. For more information about our Vermont’s Proficiency-Based Learning, please visit the CVSD site.
We wish you a wonderful weekend and hope to see many of you at the Craft Fair this weekend!
Kind Regards,
Stephanie, Jen and Cassandra
