What is bullying and why is it an issue
Bullying is vile and an unwanted behavior. Bullying occurs when someone repeatedly and purposely picks on someone to make he/she feel bad. The consequence of bullying can lead to feelings of loneliness and sadness and may also lead to death because the victim loses tolerance. Examples of bullying can be physical, verbal and emotional. 160,000 kids stay in because they fear of getting bullied. Kids should not be afraid to check their computer or go to school and no one deserves to be bullied. http://www.bullyingstatistics.org/content/bullying-and-suicide.html http://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/cycp-cpcj/bull-inti/index-eng.htm
Why do people bully and who do they target
A possible reason why they might be bullying you is because they have problems at home. This may be physical or verbal abuse at home. Some kids bully because of lack of attention to feel "cool" or popular. Some kids are influenced by family, friends and even by watching violent films (shows ,movies) Bullies target someone who may be a weaker (size..etc) or people who have disabilities or health problems (defective eyes ..etc) Some kids bully for no reason but perhaps it is because of religion or skin color. http://www.sd71.bc.ca/sd71/school/courtmid/2003_student_web/7_4/3_c_kayla/page_3.htm http://pbskids.org/itsmylife/friends/bullies/article3.html
Bullying - Stop It
Can bullying happen where you live?
People from urban, suburban, and rural areas are all equally likely to be bullied. Bullying can happen anywhere. People often bully other people where there is little adult supervision. Bullying can occur in the neighborhood, at school , and on school buses. Kids are most likely to be bullied in the school hallways because most of the time the teachers are in their classrooms preparing for the next class. Bullying is something that has been going on for centuries and happens in every school.
