A note from Mrs. Johansen
I hope you had a wonderful weekend! The first day of school is Wednesday, August 19th. All students will be learning remotely from August 19th - September 4th.
Our annual Meet the Teacher event will look a little different this year. Later on today, you will receive an email from your child's classroom teacher with a special welcome message. I had a chance to preview the messages from the teachers and they were WONDERFUL! I'm so proud of our staff for this positive and creative energy!
Our Parent Orientation is this Thursday, August 20th. It will be virtual. Teachers will be sharing the Google Meets invitation with parents via email.

Parents will need to come to school during their assigned day/time to pick up their materials. See the image below for your assigned day/time.
The following items will be distributed:
Chromebooks to all students in Grades K-6
Math books
Assignment notebooks
School Supplies that were purchased from the PTA for virtual learners- students who will return to school will have their supplies delivered to their classrooms.
Our goal is to provide families with their devices and supplies in a quick and efficient manner, while following social distancing guidelines, to ensure the safety of our staff and families.
Please follow these steps to assist us with Chromebook and materials distribution:
Place a sign on your dashboard with your child(ren)’s name and grade level.
When you arrive at Sanborn, pull up to the Door 1 in the circle drive. Please entirely slowly as our staff will be there to greet you.
Stay in your car.
A staff member will bring a Chromebook Responsible Use Contract to your car. Please review the contract and sign it while we process your child’s materials.
Staff members will go into our building to obtain your child’s items. We appreciate your patience.
Update from the Health Office
Health, Immunization, Dental, and Eye Exams:
For the purpose of safeguarding the health of children, District 15 enforces Illinois student health requirements. These requirements consist of health, dental, and eye exams and immunizations specific to grade and age. Health Exams are required for students entering Preschool, Kindergarten, Sixth Grade, and those who are new to the school. Click here for the required health forms: Required Health Exams and Immunization Recording. *** All health requirements are due by October 15, 2020 ***
(According to Board of Education Policy 7:100 Health, Eye, and Dental Examinations, Immunizations, and Exclusion of Students and Illinois School Code, students who do not provide proof of receiving the required immunization and/or exam are excluded from school on October 15. Students new to Illinois schools, who register midterm, are allowed 30 days following registration to comply with the health requirements.)
