The Lion's Share Newsletter
December Edition
From the Desk of Mr. Miller:
Welcome back from Thanksgiving Break! I hope you were able to find time to rest, relax, and reflect on what you have been thankful for. As for me, I enjoyed my time here with my family and spent some time playing in the snow with my son and wife. We have a quick three weeks before Winter Break will be here!
I would like to take this time to recognize a few of our Lions. As part of Capturing Kids' Hearts, we strive to be the very best we can be by showing the attributes of our ROAR behavior. We encourage, coach, and model how all students can show Respect, On-task behavior, to have an A+ attitude, and to be Respectful to all. We recognize students that show these behaviors each and every day. However, on occasion, we have students that go beyond those desired behaviors. When this happens, our students are publicly recognized with a "Roaring Good Thing" during the morning announcements to the entire school. They are then asked to come straight down to the office to be celebrated. Finally, the students help me to put their Roaring Good Thing up in the hallway for all to see. I would like to thank the following students for their outstanding behavior: Zayde Perez-Aguinaga, Eli Tabares, Bryan Garcia-Romero, Adam Lewis, Carolina Chavez-Ramos, Payzlee Rodriquez, and Dominic Gregg.
Is your student missing a jacket, hat, lunchbox, or gloves? Chances are, they are in our lost & found! Our lost & found is overflowing! It's that time of year to stop by and see if you can locate any missing items. Each year, we donate the remaining items to Goodwill during winter break and in May after school is out. Please be sure to stop is soon before our first donation is made. I've included an updated picture of the lost & found in the hopes you might see that missing item!
Thank you to all of the families that purchased a hoodie and/or tee shirt! We have sent the orders in and we should hopefully be receiving the hoodies and tee shirts by mid-next week, if not earlier!
Finally, our make-up picture day will take place Thursday, December 12th. The make-up picture day is only for students that were not here during the three original picture days. If your student has yet to have their picture taken, please be sure to have your students ready on December 12th! The pictures really did turn out great and I'm hoping you are happy with them!
As always, I appreciate your support and all that you do for your student and our school. My door is always open if you ever have any questions or concerns. You can also find my email directly at the bottom of the page. Let's have a strong upcoming three weeks!
Thank you for reading,
