Glows and Grows

Glows: Thank you to all of the staff who attended EdCampFSUSD 2019, hosted here at Cordelia Hills. Highlights include a student panel of students from across our district talking about their far ranging experiences in our schools. A special note of appreciation to the teacher who has reached out to a family of a struggling student just to offer positive feedback and encouragement. I noticed and it is appreciated. Finally, thank you for all of your hard work during BTSN.

Grows: As many of you start to strengthen your small group routines, a few things to reflect on: I watched two different classes at ANOTHER school (same grade). Both rooms transitioned to small group in wholly different ways. One had students picking up materials, moving to vastly different areas of the room, and there was little room at the teacher table. The other room was on point. Materials were minimal and ready. The routine took little teacher direction as the students knew the simple routine. The focus was on preparing for instruction and work. What do routines look like in your small groups?

The MAP TEST Administration window for Fall 2019 is open for elementary schools. Please review the previous email (Melissa Farrar email). IF YOU NEED assistance, please don't hesitate to reach out to me. I am excited to see scores and goal setting!

**Please read the email so that you select the correct assessments for your students.**

MTSS Tier One Plan

Our Multi Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) team met this week to review our Tier One plan for supporting our school wide expectations. I wanted to share our plan/goal for September and October. You can find the plan for the first two months here!

Check them out! September is focused on building relationships and making bonds with students. Please feel free to share the successes you've had in this area.

October is focused on recognizing students with Paw Prides and Good News Referrals. Both are available in the staff workroom. Remember, students put Paw Prides in the Paw Pride box on the stage. Good News Referrals come back to me in the office. Students can visit and hand them in and I will recognize them personally.

Attendance Awareness Month

September is attendance awareness month. Remember, our goal is 97.5% attendance across the school year. Check out the poster contest hosted by Solano County Office of Education!

Also, I will include/update this data sheet each week. I think it is a good idea to understand where our school is and where your class is. Feel free to share with your students.

Pedestrian Safety Awareness Month

This is the month of awareness! I am including a poster that you can use to promote pedestrian safety with our students. I will also include this information to parents and on our social media. Here is the poster!
