A Message from the Forest Park HS Counseling Department
The School Counseling Department provides students and families with a variety of services for academic, career, and personal/social development in High School and beyond. Here is a snapshot of what we have been working on and some upcoming events.
Freshman Conferences - Class of 2023
During the week of March 18th, School Counselors met with our freshman students to have them complete the school division's Academic Career Plan and Introduce the Naviance Student Program. The Naviance Student Program is a resource program which provides students with information about colleges, career exploration, scholarships, resumes, assessments and much more to assist with post-secondary planning. Students were given an opportunity to complete the Strength Explorer Assessment, which allowed the students to learn how their talents, strengths & weakness would match with future career that they might want to explore further.
Junior Conferences - Class of 2020
During the week of April 3rd and 4th, the School Counseling Department met with Juniors through their History courses to discuss Post-Secondary Planning. Counselors reviewed information about the College Planning process, scholarships, Military, Vocational school, and much more. Each student was provided with a copy of a Senior Handbook which provides them the resources as they embark on the journey for their upcoming Senior Year.
