Next Tuesday, July 20, we kick off full band camp. We are still working to lock in locations and facilities with the campus being under refresh and limited facilities.

Woodwinds and Brass, we have one more pass off coming up this Friday.If you have not submitted any of the summer pass offs, make sure they get done before band camp. They will be part of our evaluation towards varsity marching positions.


If you do not have a concert or marching instrument please let Mr. Smith know (if you already have - resend an email) and next week he can try to help you get your instrument in preparation for camp.


Also, please do not forget about the required physicals for marching season. All students who have an out of date physical or not yet submitted one MUST bring one on the first day of camp (July 20).

Coming up, Tuesday, July 13 at 6:00pm CST we have our Third Virtual Movement class with Mr. Young. This is for all students in the program to attend.

Band Camp Supplies

As we head into the final weeks of preparing for band camp please make sure you have the following items with you everyday at camp to make sure you are able to fully participate.


- Hat (required for all outdoor rehearsals)

- tennis shoes (flat foot shoes are not useful; ex: Vans, Converse, etc)

- lightweight athletic clothing

- sunscreen

- lunch/snack

- Specific Band equipment (instrument, color guard equipment [flags, rifles, gloves] drums, etc)

- Printed Sheet Music

- 1 gallon watercooler (see below)

- Flip folder (winds only)

- Smile!! :)

REQUIRED WATERCOOLER

All students are expected to have the required 1-gallon water jug on July 20 at camp. Please see below for the details. The cooler must be blue. You may buy from Walmart, Amazon, Sporting goods stores, etc.

Monday July 12:

8-8:30 Organize equipment, talk equipment, collect glove sizes

8:30-11 Dance Class

11-12 All work on rifle


12-1:30 lunch


1:30-2:30 All on flag

2:30-5:00 Learn opening flag hit - everyone


Plan on being indoors and outdoors. Water is crucial and light colored/weight clothing.
