Conventions Examples

Aidan Goldman

Example 1

It is a convention when writing a novel, specifically a romance novel, that the two main characters end up together at the end of the book. This convention is being broken as of late and can cause for novels to switch genres to tragedy like Romeo and Juliet.

Example 2

It is a preconceived convention that in novels the male hero must save the female. This is rapidly changing in the fact that it isn't always the male but sometimes the female that does the saving.
