Women's Soccer Continues to Thrive!
Women's Soccer headed to Maryland for the 2013 NJCAA Region 20 and District H Division III Women's Soccer Championship. The Eagles played their semifinal match on October 24th at 7:00 PM. Playing Montgomery Rockville, Oxford women stayed neck in neck with their competitors at half time, the score 1-1. Rockville started to take the lead into the second half, however, and ended up winning the game 3-1. Nonetheless, the Women’s team had a terrific season that ended in a hard fought loss in a competitive post season tournament. The team finished their season 8-5.
Women's Soccer Freshman Allycyn Boudreau and Sophomore Zoe Heyman join Sophomore Captain Chloe Donegan, Freshman Meghan Spencer and Freshman GK Hannah Smith in the National Rankings.
Freshman Boudreau finished her season 21st in the Nation on Assists; Sophomore Zoe Heyman was 39th on Assists. She joins Chloe Donegan and Meghan Spencer who were both tied at 3rd highest goal-scorers and Freshman goal keeper Hannah Smith who was ranked24th in the Nation on GK saves and 18th in the nation on her saves % record. Hannah was also 21st in the Nation on allowing the fewest # of goals. Go Eagles!!
Ride for Leadership
The brainchild of a small committee of Oxford College bike enthusiasts, the Ride For Leadership is a fun way to bond the Oxford community through a leisurely, recreational ride on the historic back roads of Newton County, at the same time raising awareness and funds for leadership programs at Oxford College. Participants pay a $25 fee/donation to participate in this organized ride with three routes to choose from, a 5 mile loop, a 15 mile loop and 33 mile loop, all beginning and ending on the Quad of the Oxford College Campus. Current Oxford College students pay ONLY $10 to ride.

Men's Basketball
Oxford Basketball Won Exhibition Game versus Faith Baptist Prep Academy 71 to 60. Oxford was led in scoring by Seth Dossett with 19 points of which he made 4 three point shots. Jonathan Cole followed with 15 points, Robert Howell with 9 points and Joseph Barbati with 8 points. Oxford was led in scoring by Seth Dossett with 19 points of which he made 4 three point shots. There will be another exhibition game tonight, Friday, October 25. Be sure to join and cheer on the Eagles!
William's Gym and the available resources for you!!!
1. We all know of the weight room upstairs is the perfect place to tone and strengthen by exercising with free weights, cybex machines, and an array of fitness machines.
2. Aerobic Room: Located adjacent of the weight room, this room can be utilized as a dance studio, and for fitness classes. To participate in the nightly aerobic & fitness classes, you must sign up by contacting the Center of Healthful Living office by email or phone call.
3. The swimming pool used for scuba and PE classes can also be used a night swimming facility. From 7:30 pm to 9:45 on MTWTh and Sun, this facility is yours to use freely.
4. William's Gym is used for many to play pick up basketball but it can also be used for volleyball, indoor soccer, and badminton!
5. The tennis courts are usually taken up by our Eagles for practice and matches, but when it is open, if it all yours to use. This is one of Oxford's finest facilities and perfect for recreational tennis matches.
6. Sand Volleyball Court can be found next to Lil's and can be used any time to play a nice game of volleyball with friends.
7. The soccer field next to East Village is available for use anytime of the day! It is mostly used for soccer but can also b used to football, and other intramural sports. While you're there, check out the track and warm up before you play!
