32nd and Final Conference on the Teaching of Mathematics 6-12 held at Sam Houston State University

This year the conference is scheduled for February 5-6, 2016. We are making this conference extra special with a stellar slate of speakers. There will be speakers at both the middle school and high school level with lots of ideas and materials for your classroom, as well as exhibitors giving away products. Enclosed is a pre-registration form for the conference. As usual, there will be a wide range of presentations for both the junior high and high school level. For this year the conference is being held in the Lee Drain Building. Registration is in the atrium on the second floor.

The conference will begin at 3:30pm on Friday, February 5, 2016, with an opening presentation on the State of the State at 3:45 by Susan Bohan, ESC RegionVI, followed by a special presentation by Bill Hopkins, retired from TEA and Dana Center, followed by a keynote opening address at 5:00 by Cathy Seeley, Consultant and Past President of NCTM. There will be a reception for all at 7:30 p.m. in the Bluebonnet Room of the University Hotel, which is the conference hotel for this year. The reception includes open bar and special live music. Come and enjoy. It’s on the house.

Presentations and exhibits will be going on from 8:30-4:00 on Saturday, February 6, in the Lee Drain Building. Coffee and donuts will be available from 7:30 to 8:30 on the fourth floor of the Lee Drain Bldg. There will be an expanded selection of speakers each hour of the day as well as some free gifts from exhibitors. Registration fee includes an on-site barbecue luncheon from McKenzie’s barbecue.

There will be a special presentation at 2:45 by G.T. Springer, Hewlett-Packard, followed by a keynote closing presentation by Paul Kennedy, Colorado State University. Door prizes will be given away at the end of the closing presentation.
