Foothill’s Women's Equality Club focuses on gender equality by educating about gender inequality and discussing issues related to feminism. Women’s Equality Club strives to raise general awareness about what the word feminism stands for. The goal of the club is to target any misunderstanding society may hold about feminism and to promote a tolerant community that is free of sexism or unfair pressures that relate to stereotypes/gender roles of all kinds of people.
As a place where students are free to discuss any concerns, members of the club also discuss current world events that relate to feminism. Women’s Equality Club does not imply that all women experience and express their gender identity the same way, but that we all should have equal rights all over the world. Basically, everyone regardless of race, gender, sexuality, and religion should be treated with respect.
The club meets monthly in Room 214.
