Child Find
Does your child do the same things other children his or her age do? Some children need help walking, talking, seeing, hearing, or learning. If you feel your child needs help, please contact our Osage Creek Special Education Lead, Jennifer Coaten by calling our office at 479.296.9500 or by emailing her at jcoaten@bentonvillek12.org
Special education services are available to all eligible children birth through high school, in both public and private including children who are highly mobile, homeless or wards of the state. Early detection is the key to helping your child get off to a good start.
Note From the Nurse
During this time of the year, when the weather is starting to change, it is very important to wear sunscreen every day (at least 2 times/ daily), come to school with a bottle of water and wear comfortable clothes according to the weather.
My name is Debbie Baldridge and I teach Digital Literacy. I feel so blessed to be a part of the best activity team in the district with the best kids in Bentonville! It’s a new school year and an exciting time in the Digital Literacy Lab! We will be exploring how computing devices work, why they work and what to do when they don’t work this month. We’ll also start practicing the keyboard with Typing.com and Learning.com to get us back up to speed. I’m looking forward to a great year of exploring the ever-changing world of Computer Science.
Welcome back!
Ms. Baldridge
Global Connections
Students are learning that everyone has a culture and it shapes how we see the world, ourselves and others. We are also reviewing the seven continents and five major oceans on earth. They are understanding the meaning of the terms planet, continent, country, state and city.
I am so happy to be back at Osage Creek, and even more so with the love that I have received from all of the students that remembered me.
Thanks
Mrs Guillory
We have been having so much fun in library! We have some otterly awesome book challenges this year! Kindergarten - second graders are going to have the chance to participate in our Rainbow Reading Bingo Blackouts! Each student will be bringing home instruction about how the program works and their first Rainbow Reading Bingo Card! Third and fourth grade students will get to participate in our 30 book challenge! This is a really cool challenge, and I can't wait to hear about all the books being read! They will also be bringing home instructions, so be on the lookout! There are some awesome prizes throughout each reading challenge and some fun activities planned for those who choose to participate! Please let me know if you have any questions. My email is bjennings@bentonvillek12.org. I look forward to a great year of reading and fun!
Hello, fellow Globe TrOtters!
I’m ecstatic to be the new music teacher at Osage Creek Elementary School! This is my 17th year of teaching music, and I’m loving being back in the classroom after taking a four year sabbatical. We have already been doing so many fantastic things and making beautiful music together. I’m amazed at the talent level in this building! Ask your students about “Zum Gali,” our Israeli celebration song that we’ve been singing. We’ve also been learning to Dance the Hora along with it while we sing.
Our students have already been trying out our variety of percussion instruments. I look forward to teaching them to use our boomwhackers, keyboards, and other Orff instruments, along with singing a variety of music from across the world. Our concert in December will be performed by Coves in which we will celebrate holidays from cultures represented in our own school and many other beautiful countries.
Adventure Awaits in the Music Room! I’m excited to get to know all of our Otters, students and families alike. Thank you for supporting the love of music in your children!
