Come learn how you can get involved as a heroic leader


This community panel will include:

  • The United Way of Genesee County
  • Big Brothers/Big Sisters
  • Kagle Leadership Initiatives
  • YWCA Safe House


Each Heroic Organization will describe the work they do within the community and share how yo get involved.

There will be a Q/A so audience members can learn more on how they can become heroic leaders within Flint and beyond.

Facilitator: Dr. Dallas Gatlin

Dr. Dallas Gatlin retired from General Motors in 2009 and became the Executive Director of

Carriage Town Ministries, a shelter and education ministry for homeless men, women, and

children in Flint, Michigan. Dallas served in many different roles for GM including Plant

Manager. He is a graduate of Kalamazoo College, Central Michigan University, and earned hisDoctor of Education (Ed.D.) degree from Olivet Nazarene University in May of 2014,

completing important research documenting the paths followed by individuals who have

successfully navigated the road from chronic homelessness to sustained self-sufficiency. Dallas’s passion is mentoring others in drafting—and tenaciously following—personal plans for success.
