The Principal's POV on our Bullock Performers!

Thanksgiving was EXTRA special this year since I got to spend some extra time with our kiddos during the holiday. As you know, the #BullockES Honors Choir/International Club was invited to participate in the 100th Anniversary of the 6-ABC Thanksgiving Parade in Philly this year!

The day was quite chilly but the sun was shining & we arrived with plenty of time to spare for the 9:00 check-in time. Our "downbeat" (as they say in the performance world) was not until 10:54, but despite the long, cold wait at the top of the Rocky steps our students hung in there! Throughout the morning, we found our own fun & practiced our moves. There was an abundance of laughs, smiles & hugs...plenty to be thankful for! When the downbeat came, we were ready and our performers did an SENSATIONAL job!

Once everything was finished and the adrenaline wore off, we headed back to the buses. Time to warm up! As everyone took a quiet breath to enjoy the moment, one of our parent chaperones made a comment to the teachers: Thank you for giving up part of your holiday to do this with our children, it meant so much to them. I was humbled by the gratitude and I'm sure they had the same thought I did: There's need to thank us! We didn't "give up" anything! Instead, we shared a one-in-a-lifetime experience with an amazing group of kids!

Thank you to Ms. Tursi, Ms. Fanfarillo, Ms. Castro, Ms. Rondeau, Mr. Pagan and all the parent chaperones for going above and beyond for our children & for making a memory that will last a lifetime! Have a great weekend & if you missed the performance, click on the video below (1:33 is our first performance, our second was part of the finale)!
