News for March 30-April 3 2015
The End of March
This will be a short week. We have three very busy days before a short break. We have no school on Thursday April 2nd or Friday April 3rd. We have finished our unit 8 -Traditional Tales and Whole/Part/Whole. This unit has been about knowing different ways of communicating one's thinking is important for making good decisions, knowing similarities in all things and people, seeing how things can be taken apart and/or putting together again and how using tools can help us learn. We will start unit 9 Similarities & Differences and Plants when we return April 6th.
Our Main Goals this week:
Language: Children will be able to identify the letter U and things that begin with the letter. They should also be able to tell you that it is a vowel. We are starting to talk about words and that vowels are the glue that sticks words together. Our children will be working on classic Mother Goose Nursery Rhymes-Crooked Old Man. We will be sequencing and retelling the story of the The Little Red Hen, and the alphabet. We will be continuing our work on beginning sounds of words. Please continue to review these letters at home-Q, F,V,E,H,L,C,R,T,A,K,P,W, and G.
Math: Your child will be able to be reviewing counting and starting simple math equations where we are composing and decomposing the number 5.
Social Studies: Your child will be working on recognizing difference between people and cultures.
Science: Your child will start making observation in our garden.
