Congrats to our Excellence in Education Honorees
Being among the top 5 percent of academic achievers in Loudoun County Public Schools’ senior class is an accomplishment worth celebrating. In lieu of the Loudoun Education Foundation’s annual Excellence in Education Banquet, LCPS is celebrating the members of the Class of 2021 who achieved this distinction here, and through school-based celebrations later in the school year.
The Stone Bridge seniors listed below were to have been honored at the 38th Annual Excellence in Education Banquet on December 6. LCPS and the Loudoun Education Foundation want to make sure the community recognizes these students’ academic accomplishments.
The Loudoun high school seniors honored at the Excellence in Education Banquet are those in the Class of 2021 from the LCPS’ 16 high schools with a graduating class and Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology who have ranked in the top 5 percent of their class academically during the first three years of their high school career. Students also are recognized for their selection as a National Merit Scholarship semifinalist or National Hispanic Recognition Scholar.
The honored students from Stone Bridge High School are listed below.
PTSO Meeting & Gift Cards
Please join us for our next PTSO meeting, December 8 at 7pm. We will be on Zoom and will send an email with the link on Tuesday morning. Come hear about being involved with our SBHS community, receive PTSO updates, and listen as Mr. Flynn gives us some new updates.
Our PTSO is collecting gift cards to give to the teachers and staff to spread holiday cheer before winter break. If you would like to donate a $5 gift card, please sign up using this link. Gift cards can be dropped off at school in the front office, or they can be mailed directly to the school: Attention Stone Bridge PTSO, 43100 Hay Rd., Ashburn, VA 20147.
Please have all gift cards turned in by Thursday, Dec. 10. Thank you!
Health Office News for Hybrid Students
We would like to be ready to pivot quickly to the hybrid model and provide for your student's medical needs. Please email Nurse Alexis Kerr your student's Allergy Action Plan, Asthma Action Plan, Seizure Emergency Action Plan, Authorization for Medication Administration and/or Diabetic Medical Management Plan as applicable (Click here for blank copies of the forms).
Please email completed forms to: Alexis.Kerr@lcps.org. PLEASE DO NOT DROP OFF MEDICATIONS OR MEDICAL SUPPLIES AT THIS TIME. Please note that if your student requires an inhaler during the school day, they will need a spacer available in school due to concerns related to COVID-19.
BOTB Update
Battle of the Bulldogs sought to benefit the Ashburn Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department. With the participation and contributions of the Stone Bridge Community, we were able to do just that. An Instagram account was created for BOTB not only to document the effort to support the AVFRD, but also as a means of holding a virtual themed week showing followers all that the fire department does for the Loudoun County Community. BOTB was advertised through outreach to local media outlets, promoted on the morning announcements and in advisory lessons, and supported by local businesses. In total, over $2,500 was raised by the Stone Bridge families, staff, and community, blowing expectations away. We are so grateful for the support received and were thrilled to present the fire department the donations as a thank-you for serving our community.

Holiday Lights Parade
Stone Bridge SCA is sponsoring a winter lights parade on Friday, December 18th from 6:00-8:00 PM. Families are encouraged to incorporate something Stone Bridge affiliated (a bulldog or school colors) into their regular winter lights displays at their home. Each family that wishes to enter the contest should complete this Google Form to add their house to the parade route. You will be given a number and parade participants will vote on their favorite. A prize will be provided to the winner. The deadline to submit your address is Tuesday, December 15th.

The Drivers Education teachers are hosting one final Partners for Safe Teen Driving event this year. It is on Wednesday, December 9th. These events are required as part of your driver's license application. Students, please register at the link below using your LCPS account. A student and parent must both be present using the student's LCPS Chromebook or Google account to earn credit for the event.
