Thank you to everyone for spending time with us at our activities this summer - we had great attendance!
This was the third year that we partnered with Concrete Summer Learning Adventure to offer storytime and crafts once a week at the school. This year we also hosted the middle school group at the library where we had a great time playing library-related games!
We also hosted a variety of programs related to this year's theme - from Tune Trivia to drumming, to rock painting, and more!
We had a blast with you all this summer, and we look forward to doing it again with you next year!
Adult Summer Reading Program!
BINGO!
Summer Reading wasn't just for kids - adults were able to get share in the fun as well with our Book Bingo card competition. Hopefully you were able to read some books in genres you wouldn't ordinarily pick up!
Here's the winner of our Adult Summer Reading Program grand prize (Kindle Fire 7 Tablet):
Rebecca McAdam
Here's the runner-up winners, who'll be receiving some nifty Upper Skagit Library "book" bags:
Sacha Buller
Chelsea Allen
Thanks to everyone who participated! We'll see you next year as well!
THANK YOU to those of you who stopped by our Book Sale during Cascade Days!
A huge thank you to those who volunteered their time to man the event, from set-up to clean-up and the sales time in-between - we couldn't have done it without you! A HUGE thank you to John and Gail Boggs who have been leading the event for many years! This was their last year as the main event organizers. Thank you both for everything you've done!
Get Caught Reading A Banned Book!
Banned Book-in-a-jar!
We will have one of the 'most banned and challenged books' in history shredded and placed in a jar (don't worry, it is only a photocopy of the book!) If you correctly guess the title of the 'Banned Book in-a-jar' you will win a small prize!
What Does the Freedom to Read What You Choose Mean to You?
Stop by the Library and fill out a note card telling us what the freedom to read what you choose means to you. You can take the card with you or display it for others to read.
International Talk Like a Pirate Day - Sept. 19th!
Kids will leave with a new pirate vocabulary and an eye patch.
