FJVD Weekly Info
We Live the Word!
From the Principal's Desk
Dear FJVD Families,
It was wonderful to gather together as a school community on Wednesday for Mass and the distribution of ashes marking the start of the Lenten season. I pray that this Lent provides you ample time for prayer and reflection. As we fast and consider our Lenten sacrifices in the weeks ahead, may we remember that our Lenten disciplines are meant to draw us away from the things that distract us so that we might instead draw closer to Christ and grow more and more into the people God created us to be.
I am excited to provide more details regarding the upcoming Arts Night at Fr. Doyle! Join us on Wednesday, March 18th from 6:30pm-8:00pm for performances by our Singing Saints Choir, Paul Effman musicians, and dulcimer ensemble, as well as art work displays from across all the grade levels. Check out the flyer HERE. It should be a wonderful evening celebrating the arts! Planning on attending? You can RSVP to the event by filling out the form here. I look forward to seeing many of you there!
In addition, preparations are well-underway for our Gentlemen's Choice events. We're excited to offer two great options this year. Sign-ups continue as well for our Mastery Martial Arts program, which will meet on Wednesdays starting April 29th. Students will graduate from the program with their white belt! The program is open to all students in grades K-4.
I look forward to the week ahead which will feature a half-day professional day and Spring Picture Day on Friday, March 6th! Students may wear appropriate non-uniform clothing for picture day. More information is included under Upcoming Date and Reminders below.
Have a great weekend! God Bless and Go Saints!

Recently, you have likely heard news coverage regarding the outbreak of the Coronavirus in China. Currently, there are no reported or confirmed cases in the state of Rhode Island, and it is highly unlikely that the virus would affect our student body.
Nonetheless, the Rhode Island Department of Health seeks to keep parents updated about the response to the spread of this virus. Please take a moment to read this flyer from RIDOH regarding steps you can take to take care of your family during the spread of COVID-19 and other viruses: https://www.cstsonline.org/assets/media/documents/CSTS_FS_Corona_Taking_Care_of_Your_Family.pdf?mc_cid=f217433783&mc_eid=b93b6bf973

Bottle Cap Drive
We’re excited to share that our school is part of the Coca-Cola Give program. This opens up
Father John V. Doyle School to new funding opportunities to help improve learning environments for students. The best part? Donations don’t come out of your own pocket. When you make Coca-Cola purchases, you simply send in bottle caps or product codes from boxes of beverages and our school receives a donation.
All caps and codes should be sent to Mr. Godin. Codes will be entered on one account to gain larger and quicker donations.
Thank you!
