Color Run Safety and Shirt Preservation

Safety and Clean Up

Is Color Powder Safe?

Safety is our main priority! Our colors are made with high quality cornstarch and food dyes. All materials are 100% FD&C and/or D&C grade and approved by the US FDA. However, our product is not designed for consumption.

Does Color Powder Stain Clothing?

Our color powder washes out of most clothing. However, it can stain some materials. 100% cotton clothing is recommended and typical machine washing with stain remover, removes the stains. We recommend removing excess powder from clothing before washing and/or applying water.

Is it harmful if you inhale it?

Although all the materials are food grade we do not recommend inhaling large quantities of color powder. Anyone who has asthma, is allergic to any of the ingredients or has any respiratory issues should exercise caution when participating in color powder events. It should also always be used in well ventilated outdoor space.

Preserving the color in your race shirt:

1. After the event, leave as much color on your shirt as you can. We know you'll be tempted to shake it off.

2. Lay your shirt on a flat surface, preferably outdoors, on a piece of cardboard.

3. Spray your shirt generously with a mixture of vinegar and water on both sides. Some people like to spray their shirt multiple times over a couple of days.

4. Let the shirt dry completely.

5. Place an old cloth (something you wouldn't mind being stained) between the shirt and your iron.

6. Iron both sides of the shirt.

7. Then just wash as normal.

Field Day

Field Day is Friday, May 7 on the high school football field. Parents are welcome to watch classes participate in fun station games that day. Parents will not be allowed on the field. Concessions will be available that day, ranging from $.50 to $2. Parents can check students out after they participate with no attendance penalty.
