January 2018
Welcome Back from Mrs. Toleman
A few items to note:
- Please be sure to let the office know of any dismissal changes prior to 2:00 p.m. This allows time for the Transportation Department to be notified as well as the teachers.
- The weather is going to continue to be cold. Please be sure your child is dressed appropriately. We always watch the temperature and, on the days when it is safe, students will go outside for recess.
- Please watch your local news for school delays and cancellations. I will continue to use Remind as well as send out an email through School Messenger.
- Our HSA is always looking for new parent volunteers. It doesn't take a huge time comittment and they really do great work. Be on the look out for the next meeting date.
As always, please don't hesitate to reach out with concerns or questions. We welcome the conversations. I wish you health and happiness in the New Year.
Respectfully,
Rebecca Toleman

In January, the Kindergarten will be studying: physical fitness, nutrition, personal hygiene, Martin Luther King Jr. and multicultural awareness in both social studies and science! In math, we will be focusing on comparing length, weight, capacity and numbers up to 20. The children should have all of the letters and their sounds mastered. Now that the letters have all been introduced, practicing letter formation and printing neatly from top to bottom is an important skill to work on nightly, as well as independently applying their letter sounds to read and write!
A big THANK YOU to the parents and classroom helpers who have graciously organized parties and are continuing to work in our classrooms this year. You may be getting a phone call to send in party supplies for our future celebrations.
Thanks again for all that you do to make Moreau School a great place to be! Thank you for your continued support!
We wish you a wonderful 2018 year!!!

GINGERBREAD HOUSE FUN!
Happy New Year to our Second Grade families! Although it’s been bitter cold outside, we have been warming up inside our classrooms by working super hard! We are reading longer and more challenging books, and writing up a storm! In math, we are working with numbers up to 1,000.
Thank you to everyone who pitched in and sent goodies in or helped out with our gingerbread houses. We had a wonderful time and the houses looked amazing! We hope you had a wonderful Christmas and New Year! We are looking forward to the fun times and learning that 2018 will bring.
