Testing Time!

This week we will have district assessments on campus. These tests allow us to see how the students are progressing based on what they've been taught so far this school year. Please make sure your child gets a good night's sleep and is at school on time ready to show what they know! This is a good opportunity for the teachers to really see how much our students have learned and guide the instruction for the remainder of the year!

Holidays Around the World Multicultural Market

Mahanay students have been studying various countries throughout the months of November and December. Every teacher has chosen a country to study and research. After completing their research, the students will be responsible for creating a product from that country. As part of our culminating activities, we will hold a Market Day on December 19th. Students will be allowed to buy tickets to purchase items being sold at the market. Items will cost between 1 and 10 tickets. The tickets will cost 25 cents each or 5 for $1.00. Tickets will be presold during the school day in the front office. Ticket tables will also be set up during the market. Tickets are currently on sale. Students will receive their tickets from their teachers the day of the market.

Students are allowed to wear clothing that represents their nationality or heritage on December 19th. If a student does not own clothing from their heritage, they must wear their school uniform.

Santa Claus is coming to Mahanay!!!

Santa will be here to take pictures with our students on Friday, December 14th.

Pictures are $5.00 each. Prepay by December 13th. You can send the money to school with your child. Pictures will be taken next to our big, beautiful Christmas tree. Younger siblings are welcome to come as well. Pictures will be delivered to your child before we go on break.

Mahanay Student Council is selling Smencils

https://youtu.be/AWSVokSLIU8
The Mahanay student council will be selling Smencils (smelly pencils) before school in the kiva from now until December 21st. The money raised goes back to the students and their activities.

Regular Smencils are $1.00.

Special Smencils (The Descendents, Spriderman, Halloween) will be $1.25.

Reminder: Put students' names on their jackets

Just a friendly reminder to put your child's name on the tag or somewhere on your child's jacket. The students take their jackets outside or to PE and get hot and take them off. Although the teachers remind the students, sometimes they get left outside, in the gym, or in the cafeteria. When there is a name on the jacket, we can return it to its rightful owner. When there isn't a name, it ends up in the lost and found.

Calling all Volunteers!!!
