Conductors, Semiconductors, and Insulators

Conductors

Electric current can flow freely, in an insulator it cannot.Metals such as copper typify conductors. An example of a Conductors is copper, water, gold.

Insulators

  • Are materials that greatly impede or stop the flow of electrons with very high resistance. An example of insulators are paper, Styrofoam, rubber, glass, dry air.
