A Word From Our Principal

We have had a great start to the school year. I just want to remind you of Family Access and to be checking on your child’s progress. Please email the teachers if you have questions or how to improve your child’s grade. If you are unable to access Family Access through Skyward, please contact Eileen Stone, She will be able to help you get into your account. Also in Family access you can see your lunch account status and any outstanding fees that you might have. Many students receive fees for unreturned textbooks. If this is the case, please check around the house and see if it is around. We will remove any fees related to textbooks if they are returned. We have some big events coming up in October such as Homecoming and many of our sports senior nights.

Starting the last week of October any Junior or Senior that has not met state graduation requirements in testing will get an opportunity to attempt the state test exam to meet graduation requirements.

I appreciate and thank you for all the support that our school has received from you.

High School Principal

Family Access

Family Access, Student Access, and Student Emails

All students have an email account at school through the school district’s Google account. Students can login to their email from any computer with Internet connection. This is a helpful tool for saving schoolwork and keeping in touch with teachers and staff. Student Access is also given to students so that they can check their homework, messages from teachers, see class schedules and much more. Family Access is provided to all parents/guardians so that they can see class schedules, pay fees/fines and lunch accounts, grades, etc. Student and Family Access links are found at the Coupeville School District Website.

STRIVE for 5

At CHS we want every high school student to know the importance of good attendance and how regular attendance at school relates directly to graduation rates. For every school day missed, the likelihood of graduating decreases by 1%.

Encouraging positive habits is a great first step to changing your student's behavior. But habits don’t form overnight… in fact, it takes 21 days!

So, let's start today.

First, evaluate your student's past absences. Could the student have been at school? Were they too sick? Could an appointment have been rescheduled for non-school hours?

Next, evaluate your family's’ current habits. Does the whole family place importance on good attendance, arriving at school on time, and staying at school all day? Are you excusing absences that shouldn't be excused?

We want to work together to minimize absences during the school year, so we are asking you to STRIVE for 5!

Can your student limit their absences to 5 days? We need EVERYONE to help us meet our school wide attendance goals...So how can we help you make it happen? Let us know by emailing

Looking forward to...
