From the Office
Report cards will be mailed home on Friday, March 8th. Our 2nd Trimester Honor Roll Recognition event will be held on Thursday, March 21st from 7:40am - 8:15am. Students who earn a 3.2 or higher GPA, will be eligible to attend. Parents and relatives of Honor Roll students are also invited to join us. Our PTO will be providing coffee, water, and treats in the Commons. The morning will include a performance by our Westfield Jazz Band in the gym. Families and students will be able to choose their seating and may sit together. As part of the program, students will be invited to stand and be recognized for their achievement. At 8:15, students will be dismissed from the gym to their lockers and all guests will be required to exit the building.
Students will be notified of their GPA in their report cards and will also receive their Honor Roll ribbons with the report card. Attending the Honor Roll breakfast is optional.

A Note about Student Illness from the Nurse
Dear Parents,
Bloomingdale SD 13 has been experiencing a relatively high number of absences over the past couple of days. The symptoms are not consistent with one specific illness. We ask parents to monitor the health of their students and keep students at home if they appear sick. Here are some general health guidelines to follow:
Students should be kept at home when:
1. He/she has a fever of 100.0℉ or greater ─ your child may return to school after being fever-free for a full 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medication.
2. He/she is vomiting or has diarrhea ─ your child may return to school if there is no vomiting or diarrhea for a full 24 hours.
3. He/she has a persistent sore throat or a hacking cough ─ your child may return to school after been seen by a physician for evaluation and has begun any necessary treatment.
4. He/she has generalized body aches, fatigue, and appears pale in color ─ your child may return to school when rested and feeling stronger.
Thank you! Nurse Jones

Innovation Night (formerly Portfolio Night)
During Innovation Night students will share their project with parents, family, and community members. Attendees will be invited in to walk around, listen to student presentations and ask them questions! The tentative date for Innovation Night at Westfield is May 16th! We are looking forward to watching students navigate these problems and ideas while learning critical life-long skills! Innovation Night will replace our traditional "Portfolio Night" from years past. Portfolios will still be curated and students can share them with parents at home.
