Monday, August 31st is the FIRST day of school!
Importance of students staying home when sick...
It is essential for schools to reinforce to students, parents or caregivers the importance of students staying home when sick until at least 24 hours after they no longer have a fever (temperature of 100 or higher) or signs of a fever (chills, feeling very warm, flushed appearance, or sweating) without the use of fever-reducing medicine (e.g., Tylenol). These policies that encourage and support staying home when sick will help prevent the transmission of SARS-CoV-2 (and other illnesses including flu) and help keep schools open.
Symptom screening at home can be helpful to determine if a student:
- currently has an infectious illness that could impair their ability to learn, or
- is at risk of transmitting an infectious illness to other students or to school staff.
Orchard Primary will NOT be going peanut restricted this year!
You can order online! Paper flyers will come home on the first day of school. This picture day is for in-person students at this time. Virutal students picture day is TBD.
OP's Parking Lots
The North parking lot has 2 driveways—one to enter and one to exit the lot. Please follow the one-way traffic signs for the north drop-off loop. In the South lot, please stay to the right to follow the drop off loop flow along the south sidewalk. Thank you!
Arrival (Drop Off) Procedure
A few staff members will be out each morning starting at 8:33 a.m., to help welcome students to school as they safely exit their cars and line up at their assigned door. Parents can walk their children to their designated line up spot. Please wear a mask. Teacher's last names will be displayed in the windows by each door. Please line up at the correct door and wait for an OP staff member to direct you into the building. Staff WILL NOT be opening car doors this year. Students will exit the cars themselves and walk to their designated door to wait for the doors to open at 8:35 a.m. Please make sure your child is sitting on the passenger side of the car to keep them safe! This may mean you have to move your child's car seat or booster, but safety is our goal!
From 8:35-8:40, there will be a rolling arrival. Students can enter the building in their assigned door and can walk directly to their classroom. This year students will be going to the CLASSROOMS FIRST in order to limit hallway congestion. Teachers will then dismiss students to their lockers.
PLEASE LOOK BELOW FOR WHICH DOOR YOUR CHILD SHOULD LINE UP AT. THIS IS BASED ON CLASSROOM TEACHER. The number behind the teacher's name indicates the grade level they teach. Students cannot be dropped off to line up before 8:33 a.m. There will be no adult supervision outside of OP until 8:33 a.m.
