Thank You, and You, and You!

May 2, 2019

Next week is "Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week," when we recognize and celebrate all those who play a part in educating our students...our phenomenal staff is made up of teachers, aides, security monitors, counselors, custodians, secretaries, administrators, nurses, kitchen crew, maintenance staff, and technology personnel! We are blessed to have such dedicated individuals who care not only about our students' academic growth, but their development as emerging leaders, good citizens, role models, and all-around amazing young adults.

A huge THANK YOU to the LMS/LHS PTO and all of the volunteers who always work so hard to make our team feel extra-cherished throughout this week every year! You are such an intricate piece of our puzzle as well, and we couldn't do what we do without the daily at-home support of our dedicated LHS parents.

Raising Healthy Children

LHS is proud to host a presentation by George Scott on "Raising Healthy Children," which will take place on Tuesday, May 7th at 7:00 p.m. in the auditorium. This event is open to any school-aged parent, and childcare will be made available. Scott has presented to many of our area schools on this topic, as well as at the Superintendent’s Call for Action. He does a great job of weaving ACEs, mental health, and the stress our students experience at an early age with the role the family plays in helping to support our students. Ann DeGennaro (Student Assistance Counselor) will also be on hand to provide a vaping 101 to parents before or after the main presentation. Check out this link for more information and to sign up for childcare!
