Byron Nelson Orchestras
Welcome back to school! -- August 20, 2020
Byron Nelson Orchestra 2020-21 School Year
What a great first 2 days! Despite a few logistic challenges, they worked with us and around the issues and made some progress with our orchestra program set-up.
Our mantra for this year may well me, "What we do know, is our orchestra program will continue to train, progress, learn, grow and make music, regardless of the situation. It may not look like what we are used to, or be the "dream" situation, but we will definitely work towards having a great year for our students."
For current information from the district, please check the button below. The district website will be updated constantly with the latest information.

Parents and Guardians, we would LOVE your help!
Hi!
Our Byron Nelson Orchestra Parent Group (known as Byron Nelson Orchestra String Society) has started to work! The board has met a couple of times, and we are happy to announce the following parents that have volunteered to serve:
President: Melody Cooley
Vice President: Michelle Murphy
Treasurer: Sandra Hollingshead
Secretary: Shalonda Williams
Historian: Elizabeth Rodriguez
Social Media Chair: Ann Trang
Volunteer Chair: Stacy Porter
Uniform Chair: Elizabeth Kelly
Fundraising Chair: Crysta Rappleye
We are still in need of a Spirit Chair and Scholarship Chair. If you are interested in either of these positions, volunteering for any specific committees (uniform, fundraising, spirit, scholarship), or being notified of general volunteer opportunities, please sign up on this google doc- https://forms.gle/VDo1WGMJo4ov485s9
Please let me know if you have any other ideas, interests in helping out, and even any "ins" with corporate sponsors or ideas for fundraising. We are working on a website, but it is not quite ready for publishing. We did start a Facebook page, so please join! It is called Byron Nelson Orchestra String Society (see button below for link.)
Thanks for your help and interest! I can't wait to see all the wonderful things we can achieve!

Does this happen at your house?
If you get one, be sure to buy a metal one, the rubber or plastic ones don't do a very good job.
Amazon and music stores all have these available, generally for under $15.
The pictures below are what they normally look like.
