Is it a Nature or Nurture?
Down Syndrome is a nature effect. It begins when the baby is in the mothers uterus. He can not just gain it out of no where when he once enters the world. He or she was born with the defect. Also if the mother or father give off the chromosome 21 then the rest of their children will also have Down Syndrome because of the chromosome they both have.

Down syndrome is a chromosomal condition (They have chromosome 21 instead of 23) that is associated with intellectual disability, a characteristic facial appearance, and weak muscle tone (hypotonia) in infancy. All affected individuals experience cognitive delays, but the intellectual disability is usually mild to moderate.

- Thyroid problems
- Hearing problems
- Congenital heart disease
- Eye problems
- Seizure disorders
- Bone, muscle, nerve, or joint problems
- Leukemia and other cancers
- Immune system problems
- Developmental delay
- Mental retardation
- Alzheimer's disease.
Down Syndrome prevention
There is no way to prevent Down Syndrome. There is no way to prevent chromosome 21 being passed to the child.
Treatment options for Down Syndrome
There is no single way to cure Down Syndrome. They can however be helped in a good way. Through physical therapy and regular check ups, they will still be healthy.
