Eating Disorders

Big image
Body Image is the mental image of a person's own body. Beauty comes in all shapes and sizes not just being skinny and tall with a perfect face. Beauty is much more than just looks but the media has made it seem like looks are everything now a days.

Body images are shaped from the media. There is not doubt in my mind that media plays the biggest role on body image. Even models who are already gorgeous have so much computer work done to them to make them look "better" " skinnier" or "more toned". No wonder people aren't comfortable in their own body! The media makes it seem like no one is good enough and that everyone should look like the perfect model that even they had to fix up a ton. It's all fake and you can't even tell what's real anymore if any of it even is. Young people/kids seeing all of this have started worrying about their weight at a very young age. We need to put a stop to this. We need to make people feel better about themselves not down on themselves. We can change this if we start looking at what a person is like on the inside instead of worrying about their looks or weight. It's what's on the inside that counts.

5 steps to a better Body image

1- Stop caring so much about the way others see you and what they think about you

2- Do things that make you happy and keep your mind off your appearance

3- Remind yourself that beauty isn't just skin deep

4- Surround yourself with positive people

5- Be the best you that you can be!
