South Students Learned About the Phases of the Moon
south 3rd graders did volcano research
The South students in 3rd grade took time to research a volcano of their choosing and had to create a poster which they had to label the volcano parts. Each poster had to include the name of their volcano, the last time it erupted and 5 interesting facts. After the research was done the students made their own volcano out of salt dough and painted them. Mrs. Rodriguez gave a lesson to the kids about dependent and independent variables in science experiments. The students observed that sometimes a volcano will explode huge and some move more slowly, but all are dangerous and can kill people, wildlife, and destroy the land. The students used science safety and with help erupted their volcanos. Today they will share their hard work on their posters with the class so that everyone can learn about volcanoes.
