Thank you for your continued efforts during remote learning! In spite of the difficult circumstances, students, teachers, and parents have demonstrated tremendous effort and perseverance. Everyone should feel proud of their accomplishments. We understand the many challenges that families are currently facing and want to do whatever we can to help. Please don't hesitate to reach out to your child's teacher or the office if you or your child require help with any aspect of online learning.

Something we have noticed, in the older grades particularly, is that students can be reluctant to turn on their cameras. Although we understand the hesitation at times, and the need for breaks, please encourage your child to keep their camera on as much as possible during synchronous learning, as this helps them to stay more engaged. It is also important that they let us know they are still present and attending by participating either by voice or in the chat when called upon.

May 3-9 is Mental Health Week - Our announcements each day will promote behaviours and attitudes that foster well-being, support good mental health and create a culture of understanding and acceptance. The theme of this year’s Mental Health Week is #GetReal about how you feel. Recognizing, labeling and accepting our feelings are all part of protecting and promoting good mental health for everyone. Naming, expressing and dealing with our emotions—even when they’re uncomfortable—can make us feel better.

May 3-9 is also teacher appreciation week. We are looking forward to recognizing this amazing staff at our whole-school virtual assembly Friday! Our Grade 8 leadership team has also been working on the next installment of the Grizzly Growl! We can't wait! A link to the assembly will be posted in your child's Google Classroom Friday. We are looking forward to seeing everyone there!

Mother's Day Planters Pick Up

Mother's Day planter sales were amazing! You helped us raise over $1500!

Pick up will be on Friday May 7th at 2875 Perth Road after 10am. Due to the current lockdown, we ask that you follow the instructions below:

When arriving, please pull in and stay to the right on the driveway. Please pull up to the tent/table area once the way is clear. We ask that if someone is in front of you, that you wait in your car until you are at the front of the line. Depending on the size of your order, we may be able load the planters for you while you stay in your vehicle. We will need to know the name of the student/family name on the order form so we can check it from the list. Each family who ordered should be picking up for everyone on their list unless other arrangements are made. If you have any questions/concerns, please email us at

Asymptomatic Testing for Staff and Students

As part of the Ministry of Education’s enhanced COVID-19 school protocols, school boards are required to offer voluntary asymptomatic COVID-19 testing to students, staff and bus drivers.

Families must book appointments for students using the assessment centre’s existing booking process (online or by telephone). Please ensure you use the online booking link provided below, or, if you are booking by telephone, indicate you are a Limestone student or staff member at time of booking. Walk-ins are not permitted. Testing of asymptomatic family members is also not permitted under this program.

  • Kingston Assessment Centre (KHSC) or 613.548.2376. Appointments are available from 4-4:30 p.m. daily. Should there be no registrations, or insufficient registrations, scheduled by 10 a.m. the same day, testing will be cancelled for that day. Staff will be invited to reschedule on a different testing day.
  • Napanee Assessment Centre (LACGH) or 613.354.8254. Appointments are available from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. daily via drive-thru.

Students may continue to attend school while awaiting asymptomatic test results provided they pass the daily COVID-19 screening.

Kindergaten September 2021 Registration Now Open! #SeeYourselfInLimestone

Spread the word about our amazing Kindergarten program and team at Glenburnie Public School! We offer a full day of learning for four- and five-year-olds over a two year period in English! (Please note, the child must be 4 or 5 by the end of December!)

Our Kindergarten program aims to nurture the whole child. In our Kindergarten classroom, a teacher and an early childhood educator work together as a team. This partnership helps to create a nurturing learning environment; giving every student the opportunity to learn in the way that is best suited to their individual strengths and needs. You can feel confident your student will be cared for within safe and inclusive environments.

Now is the time to register.

Pick up Nevada tickets and drop off batteries at the same place

Did you know that you can purchase Nevada tickets to support GPS? They can be purchased at the Centex Gas Station - Glenburnie Convenience (2408 Perth Road). Alkaline batteries can also be dropped off there for recycling. A big thank you to Centex for helping us! Prizes are awarded to schools that participate and the battery program supports Sick Kids Hospital.
