CMS Families,
This is the last week of the grading period. This means all work needs to be turned in by Friday afternoon. Since students do not have school Monday and Tuesday, it is very important that they work hard this week to get everything turned in to their teachers.
This does include summer reading assignments in ELA and SS. Every students should have completed their summer reading. Teachers will be contacting you if your child did not turn their assignment in as this is a major grade and is mandatory. Any student that does not turn in their summer reading will not participate in any Cougartime events or be allowed to attend any after school games until it is completed.
Please make sure you child is checking SSS at least twice a week so they know about any grades below a 70. We do expect students in high school electives and pre-ap classes to maintain grades above an 85.
Also, this week, we will host a brief meeting regarding our 18-19 STAAR data. We will review our areas of growth as well as our areas for improvement. Please join us in the library at 6:30 p.m.
We started on 21 day Attendance Challenge and it's been a rough start! Our goal is for us to have a school-wide goal of 97%. We have steadily decreased in overall attendance. Since October 1st, we have only met 97% 2 out of 4 days. If we meet our school-wide goal, our campus will have an hour of fun and our VIP's will have a GREAT time with our trunk or treat and fabulous drawing for prizes!!! Thank you for our continued help with our prizes!
Please remember about our FREE Math program called Dreambox. This is a GREAT opportunity to fill in the gaps and to get ahead. We will have prizes every two weeks for students and classes. Our library is open every day until 5pm. We would like every student to get on Dreambox nightly. Please take a look at the flyer below for more information. https://play.dreambox.com/login/un8v/ds4q
If you have any dads interested in #DADSQUAD, please have them come for a brief training on Monday at 5pm. Please see the information below.
We are also having our 2nd Annual Pumpkin Book Character Contest. See the flyer for details.
Please take a look at the information below. Most of it is repetitive but it's always good to take a look at what is coming up.
Thank you for your support and please let us know how we can help you.
