MCES Weekly Top Five For Parents
UPDATES AND REMINDERS FOR THE WEEK OF FEBRUARY 1
A Message from The Administration Team
As we continue with our Second Semester instruction and edge closer to the end of the school year, the Administration Team at Montclair would like to inform and remind you of some important information.
The Family Engagement Committee will hold a Math Night on Thursday, February 18th, beginning at 5:00 PM. More information will be sent out before this event. Please check out the flyer linked in the Top Five List.
For the parents of our third-grade students who may receive a mid-year retention letter because their child has not yet made a RtA pathway, this time, there will be no federal RtA exemptions for the 2020-2021 school year. Therefore, we have continued with RtA legislation's expectations that all third-grade students meet a designated pathway, despite our available pathway's limitation due to Covid19 student remote learning. The Read to Achieve Parent Information document is linked below in the Top Five List.
Next Wit and Wisdom Book Distribution has been extended. Today Book Distribution will happen from 8:00 AM-5:00 PM, and the rest of the week from 8:00 AM-3:00 PM. As you receive the Module 3 books, please be sure to bring back the Module 2 books with you. Each family that has picked up materials by Friday, Feb 5, will be entered into a drawing to win a brand new 50 inch smart TV!
The Cumberland Family Academy is looking to provide free workshops and educational events for CCS families. Cumberland Family Academy's next interesting session occurs on Thursday, February 4, at 6 p.m. It's titled "Making the Plan: Class Options for Middle & High School." Parents will get information on preparing their child's school schedule and class options. This session includes a Q & A session as well. To register, visit the district website. The link is also listed below in The Top Five.
Lastly, be sure that your contact information is up to date in our database. The administration team will be continuing our Parentlink informational tool, especially as we look to transition to Plan B. We will be sending out important information out via phone messages and text messages. If you need to update your information, please call us at the school (910)-868-5124.
If you have any questions, comments, or concerns for administrators, please feel free to click on our google meets linked to this page's bottom. If not, we encourage you to have a Terrific Tuesday.
