BAND WINS JSU CONTEST OF CHAMPIONS
"The BHSMB competed at the JSU Contest of Champions this past Saturday against many bands from across Alabama and Georgia - some fantastic groups with very impressive and entertaining productions and highly skilled execution. Our show brought the crowd to their feet by the end of the show and got some very positive and helpful feedback from the adjudicators. Our students reached a new level of cohesiveness as a team and had their most satisfying performance to date. The awards were definitely a nice return for their super hard work this season.
Drum Major, Zachary Bone - 1st place
Percussion - 1st place
Color Guard - 2nd place
Band - 1st place and "Best in Class" (cumulative score)
*Our cumulative band score also beat all but one band in the larger class above us.
Our staff and I are very proud of this group of students who are headed to the inaugural "Alabama State Marching Band Championship" in Muscle Shoals in two weeks. If you've not seen the show yet, come out to the Senior Night Varsity Football game, Nov. 2nd, and check it out while our boys work hard against Grissom." ~Mr. Jacob Souder, Director of Bands

Sign Up to Round Up!
The Round Up Program was started by The Schools Foundation and Huntsville Utilities to support local public school systems. The Schools Foundation is a funding partner of Madison County Schools. The more residential and commercial locations that round up, the more funding we can receive. Estimates show that if just half of the residential Huntsville Utilities users rounded up, it would generate approximately $500,000 to support our schools! By rounding up your utility bill to the nearest dollar each month, you help invest in the future of our students!
You can easily sign up to round up online:
http://www.hsvutil.org/myhsvu…/checkbill/roundup/signup.html
It might be a penny, it might be 25 cents, it might be 99 cents, but it will be no more than $11.88 a year. It takes less than 1 minute to fill out.
Thank you for supporting one of our community partners! Go Bucks!

Don't want to take your final exam? Don't miss school! Students are now given the opportunity to exempt their final exam in each of their classes. However, their grades AND their attendance will be the deciding factor. Students should think ahead and plan for the end of the semester - don't miss days you don't have to.
- A student who earns exemption status has the option to take the comprehensive final examination to raise the final grade average for the course.
- The comprehensive final examination grade will count 20% of the student's final grade.
- Absences due to approved school activities will not count against course attendance.
