Reverse Poem by Mikayla, grade 8
*read the poem backwards
I’m lonely
I just don’t want to admit that
I am not worth being loved
I refuse to believe that
I will live a life without regrets
I am a cancer that rejects itself
I hate the girl in the mirror
So, you will never hear me say
I’m good enough
I am ashamed of myself
No longer can I say that
I am worth fighting for
Summer Ode, by Calista , grade 8
Oh summer
You are as perfect as a gem.
When the sun is shining bright
When the ocean gleams like diamonds
And the nights get long and cold.
When the grass gets greener
And the seeds gloom into sparkling fields of colorful flowers.
When it becomes the season of sand, sun and sea.
Oh, it's great to be free
No snow or ice for me.
How i love the summer season, warm long days
Sitting in the summer haze.
Swimming in the cool pool
Definitely beats sweating in that hot school.
Summer is my favorite season
Light out right till 9 o'clock
Don't forget your sunblock.
Summer, summer
Oh, how I love that season.
Ode Poem, by Kahli, grade 8
Oh, sweet paper of mine,
How do you smell like sweet summer pie?
The taste of fresh cut woods coming from thy.
Your thin body glides in the blue, blue sky,
Oh, sweet paper reminding thy sweet, sweet summer woods leading into the warm sky,
Oh, sweet paper all of mine written on for stories that describes the braveness from thy paper-thin eye,
Oh, sweet paper fall down with thyself fall down helplessly into my arms,
Pulled apart into shreds let thy tears fall with your dreads.
