Even without a full week of students present at school, we still have a newsletter packed full of information and upcoming events!

Extravaganza Time!

As you know, Friday March 1 is our big family event and a fundraiser to fund school projects such as teacher grants for classroom materials, shark dissection, free enrichment clubs for all students, and more. You can sign up here to help make the night a success.

New to Extravaganza? This is an easy way for anyone to help out! Consider signing up for alternating shifts with your spouse and let the kids enjoy the carnival. And we need LOTS of bakers for our famous Cake Walk; check it out here:


  • Please remember to donate to your class baskets by the middle of February! Sign ups have gone out via all our wonderful teachers.

Hello from your Eagle Elementary Student Council!

Reuse Heart and Sole is our first service project of the year, and we hope you can help us out. For each pair of shoes donated, your child will get their name in a drawing to have a fun 'brain break' in the gym for their class (sponsored and ran by student council) Thank you in advance for your generosity.

Updated Lunch Visitor Procedures

Parents are welcome to have lunch at school with their child. We encourage you to purchase the school lunch, or bring a lunch from home, rather than bring in fast food. If someone other than the parent will be visiting for lunch, parents need to call the school prior to the visitor's arrival to let the school staff know you have authorized the visit. This does include grandparents, siblings, or other family members. ALL visitors will need to present their state issued ID to be scanned into Safe Visitor upon arrival. Visitors are welcome to sit with their student at the tables in the foyer to enjoy one-on-one conversation.

February 12 El Toro Dining Night

Did you know our local restaurants support our school? Let's support them too! El Toro is donating a portion of their proceeds Tuesday February 12 to Eagle Elementary; let's fill the house and keep the take-out line bustling! Thanks for supporting our school AND local restaurants.

Little League Baseball and Softball Registration Now Open!

Register online at www.zionsvillelittleleague.org

The Early Bird Special registration rate ends at midnight Thursday February 7. Act now to save $50 on registration fees.

Little League baseball is open to children born August 31, 2013 or earlier.

Little League softball is open to children born December 31, 2012 or earlier.

Opening Day is Saturday April 13 and the recreation season ends June 15. Players involved in All-Stars will play into July.

School Delays and Closing Information

Reminder: Although we hope to avoid mother nature's fickle ways, we are prepared for weather that foils our school day schedule. Our next school closing due to inclement weather will be an e-day.

Valentine's Day Parties

We look forward to celebrating Valentine's Day with our students at their classroom parties on Thursday, February 14th. This is a wonderful opportunity for us to emphasize the life skills of friendship and kindness with all of our students.

As you are preparing Valentine cards to share with classmates, please prepare cards void of candy. Regretfully, we will be unable to pass out the candy. We have many students with food sensitivities and allergies and as always, our main goal is to keep everyone safe.

If you elect to purchase cards that have contain something extra attached to them, please ensure they are inedible. This could include pencils, erasers, stickers, etc. Thank you for ensuring that all students can have a safe and fun celebration.

School Lunch Information


We value partnerships with our families and welcome parents and guardians to serve as volunteers in our schools. Each ZCS building offers a wide variety of volunteer opportunities.

Examples include:

  • Field Trip Chaperones

  • Out of Town/Overnight Chaperones

  • Tutors

  • Volunteer Coaches

  • Classroom Helpers (PTO parties/room parents)

  • Library Helpers

  • After Prom Workers

  • Field Day/Jog-A-Thon Volunteers

  • Book Fair Sales/Athletic Ticket Sales

During the school day, all volunteers are expected to sign in at the front office. Prior to the volunteer opportunity, all volunteers must sign a Non-disclosure Acknowledgement Form and have successfully completed a Full Criminal History Background Check. Necessary background check paperwork is available on the ZCS website at the Volunteers/BRAVO link and should be submitted at least 10 days prior to the intended volunteer date. Volunteers must also view the state mandated confidentiality/bullying video, provided on the Volunteer/BRAVO website. The volunteer will pay the fee* for the full background check which will expire after 5 years. The link to apply for the full background check can be accessed on the Volunteers/BRAVO link on the ZCS main webpage. For more information, contact the Volunteer/BRAVO Coordinator.


During the school day, all visitors must enter via the front door and sign-in at the front office. Visitors need to be prepared to present a government issued photo ID which will be scanned against the National Sex Offender Registry. All visitors will be issued a visitor badge/tag to be worn inside the building at all times.

Examples Include:

  • Lunch Guests

  • Classroom Guest Speakers

  • Classroom Special Events (Grandparent Day/Famous Hoosiers/etc.)

  • Parent/Teacher Conferences

We ask that all visitors schedule an appointment to meet with teachers, counselors, administrators and all other staff members so that we may best serve everyone. Visitors other than parents/guardians must be prearranged and organized through the main office.
