Please enter the second entrance on 159th and follow the drive to the back of the school building (southeast end). Cars need to be in a single file and students will be dismissed to your car. ALL students need to load the car from the passenger side. This is done for the safety of your child. We ask that you have a sign (8 1/2 x 11) visible on your front dash/window so that we can quickly identify which child goes with each vehicle. Please list the names of all the children whom you are picking up (WRITE BIG!). Click on the form below.
In the morning, the buses should arrive at the school at approximately 8:35 am and will deliver students to the bus oval on the north end of the building.

Message from Brett White, Superintendent
Dear Andover Families,
I hope you have had a safe, enjoyable and relaxing summer. We are looking forward to the start of the 2021-22 school year!
We will begin the year in a challenging environment of rising Covid cases in our area. Most of the new cases are coming from the Delta variant. Thus, we will continue to monitor data and health conditions very carefully.
You may have questions about what this school year will be like. At this point our plan that was announced in May for the 2021-22 school year remains in effect. That includes:
Students will learn onsite every day in our schools.
Face coverings are currently optional in Andover Public Schools facilities to help prevent the spread of Covid-19. Face coverings are recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Kansas Department of Health & Environment (KDHE), and the Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE).
We will continue with extra cleaning measures and having hand sanitizer available for students and staff.
We have hired additional nursing staff to assist with contact tracing and other Covid-related needs.
Individuals identified as close contacts who are fully vaccinated are not required to quarantine unless they develop symptoms.
Our focus will continue to be on academics and the social-emotional health and needs of students and staff. This summer we offered summer learning opportunities for students to fill learning gaps from the pandemic. It was very successful, and we will offer these programs next summer as well. We also plan to use a portion of the federal funds distributed through the Elementary & Secondary Schools Education Relief (ESSER) allocation to address the social-emotional needs that impact students’ health and wellness.
As we have done since the pandemic began, we will have a district Covid playbook available that provides more information on a variety of topics for you and your students. The playbook will be an action item that our Andover Board of Education will consider at its regularly scheduled meeting Aug. 9. We will make the playbook available to families on Aug. 10.
We realize there will be anxiety and concern among many families as the school year begins, especially for our youngest students who haven’t had the opportunity to be vaccinated. Throughout the pandemic, we have regularly received information and guidance from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), state health and education leaders and agencies, local health departments, the Kansas Covid Workgroup for Kids and other related organizations. We take this responsibility very seriously, and will continue to meet with these experts to receive updated guidance as the community’s health situation evolves. As we learned last school year, Covid-19 is a fluid situation, requiring us to have the adaptability and resilience that are part of our Portrait of a Graduate.
Keeping all of you informed is extremely important to us. Our approach has been to communicate with staff and families as often as needed when important decisions are made. We also want to be respectful of your time, so if there is nothing new to share, we won’t send a message to you. Thus, if you hear rumors and gossip, and if you haven’t heard from us, you can have confidence knowing that the rumors are just that. We truly appreciate your partnership as we continue to navigate these difficult times.
