Riverside High School to Offer International Baccalaureate Program Offerings
Riverside High School will offer International Baccalaureate (IB) course offerings when the school officially opens for the 2023-24 school year. The decision to offer IB is a result of the planning team's work, which consists of staff from all over the district. IB is an internationally-recognized program, including colleges and universities all across the nation. All students at Riverside will have access to IB courses and can participate in the program as much or as little a they want to, similar to AP course offerings at West Linn and Wilsonville high schools.
Riverside High School will be a comprehensive high school including core academic subject areas, co-curricular activities, access to OSAA athletics, performing and visual arts, clubs, and all of the opportunities high school students currently enjoy in WLWV. Riverside High School will also offer three new CTE (Career and Technical Education) pathway options in the areas of:
- Health Occupations
- Business and Marketing
- Construction and Architecture

Meals No Longer Free Starting in 2022-23 School Year
Due to COVID-19 state and federal funding for free meals ending, students will need to pay for meals starting in 2022-23.
Eligible families are encouraged to apply for the free and reduced meal program starting in July. After applying, families will receive a letter notifying them if they’ve been approved. Families need to apply for the free and reduced meal program every year, even if they’ve applied and been approved previously. Applications can be printed or submitted electronically by visiting the district website. Applications are also available at your child’s school.
Schools will also return to our pre-pandemic meal service protocols starting in 2022-23. This requires students to enter their student ID number prior to receiving lunch. Schools will re-teach students meal protocols at the beginning of next school year, and we encourage families to start working with their students now to memorize student ID numbers.
Thank you for your attention to this meal service change.
