LLCS 21-22 Updated Reopening Plan
March 14, 2022
Dear Students, Parents/Guardians, and School Community:
As you know, Governor Hochul announced that effective March 2, 2022 masks will no longer be mandated in schools or on school buses in New York State. We encourage our students and staff to do what is best for them as individuals with regards to wearing or not wearing a mask. However, there are times when masks must be worn or are strongly encouraged to be worn. The new guidelines are outlined in the newly revised document, LLCS 21-22 Updated Reopening Plan.
As we continue down the road of restrictions lifting and a return to normalcy, our greatest asset is for people to stay home when they do not feel well. We ask for your continued help and support in doing daily health checks to make sure that everyone that comes to school is healthy.
Each day before coming to school, ask if your child(ren) if they have the following:
Cough
Sore throat
Fever or chills
Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
Fatigue
Muscle or body aches
Headache
Loss of taste or smell
Congestion or runny nose
Nausea or vomiting
Diarrhea
If the answer is yes, then please stay home and contact the school nurse for your next steps. Remember, even if your child(ren) tests negative for COVID-19, they can still spread colds, flu, and other viruses.
As we move forward it is our goal to make school feel more comfortable while also making sure we are keeping our students and staff safe and healthy. We appreciate all you have done over the past two years to keep our students learning in school.
Sincerely,
Michelle Billings, RN
