SPECIALS STUDENTS OF THE WEEK
We want to recognize our fifth grade students who stand out in our Specials areas! These students demonstrate our "Bridgewater Way" through their leadership, helpfulness, hard work, and character. Every week the Specials teachers will nominate one student for this recognition and the recipients will receive a certificate and prize! Congratulations, and keep up the great work fifth graders!

SCIENCE: Dixie Adelmann- Kohl's Class
Dixie is always helpful, on task, and respectful to others. She shares great ideas and works hard! Way to go, Dixie!
PHY. ED: Addyson Edwards from Holden’s Class
Addyson has a great attitude and participation every day, I really appreciate the example set for peers! An awesome student who is kind to others, plays fair, and tries her best!
PHY. ED: Jacob Englemann from Holden’s Class
Jacob is a hard worker and is always kind to others. He has great focus and always tries his best! Keep up the good work!
MUSIC: Coen Farley from DeVries Class
Coen did exceptional work on SoundTrack of My Life Assignment - going above and beyond the assignment requirements and adding details!
ART: Amelia Johnson from DuChene's Class
Amelia always puts her best work into every art project and has wonderful ideas. She often helps others and volunteers to help take care of our art supplies. Amelia has a kind heart and a passion for creating!
Nfld Public Library Program, Circus Manduhai --May 14th
Circus Manduhai at Central Park
Saturday, May 14, 10:00 a.m.
The circus is coming! Circus Manduhai is a 4-person troupe that practices the traditional art of the Mongolian circus and spreads awareness of Mongolian culture. Join us for dazzling feats of balance and flexibility with hula hoops, foot juggling, and contortion, with an added element of audience participation. All ages welcome; no registration required. Thanks to the Friends and Foundation of Northfield Public Library for making this program possible.
Nfld Public Library Program, Fairy Tales--May 14th
Fidgety Fairy Tales for Mental Health Awareness Month
Saturday, May 14, 2:00 p.m.
Fidgety Fairy Tales uses great music and gentle humor to help audiences of all ages talk about mental health. During this hour-long event, participants will watch “Chicken Little,” a 15-minute puppet show about managing catastrophizing thoughts, as well as play theatre games, build puppets, and create new stories. Presented by the Minnesota Association for Children's Mental Health and the Friends and Foundation of the Northfield Public Library.
Boosterthon Help Needed
Boosterthon is fast approaching the BBC is asking for volunteers to help with:
- Daily Prize Delivery (during the week before)
- Hand Out Fruit
- Refill Water Bottles
- Mark Laps

Student Council Project
Help Student Council collect items for CAC Food Shelf Birthday/Celebration Kits!
Last month during our drive through food drive the staff at the Community Action Center (CAC) mentioned that they were running low on supplies for families to help celebrate children’s birthdays/celebrations. Please donate to help brighten a child’s birthday/celebration. Collection boxes will be located in the commons area, KIVAS, and main office.
We will be collecting till May 17th
The following items are needed for birthday/celebration bags:
· Cake Mix
· Frosting
· Disposable cake pans or cupcake liners/cupcake pans
· Sprinkles (if not already included in the frosting)
· Candles
· Birthday plates, napkins, cups, and decorations
· party favors/stickers
· Gift bags
· Sugar-all kinds
· Cooking oil-all kinds

World-class Learning for Elementary Students Grades K–5
Bridgewater Elementary School, situated on a 14-acre campus just south of downtown Northfield, is a K–5 public school serving approximately 550 students. It serves the neighborhoods on Northfield’s southern side,
Dundas, and the rural area south of Highway 19 and west of Highway 246. Students benefit from an active parent-teacher organization, Bridgewater Booster Club (BBC) and many parent volunteers.
The staff is intensely dedicated to offering a high quality, well-rounded education that strives to meet the specific needs of each student. We focus on empowering our students in their learning and building a solid foundation for their educational journeys.
