August 2019 Week of Welcome 2019 TGIF
Message from the Principal - Mr. Efa Huckaby
Greetings Warrior Families,
Our First week of Week of Welcome (WOW) has been a success! Our Warriors began this week with activities such as icebreakers, team bonding as an opportunity to build relationships with peers and staff. It was a great way for our freshmen to get familiar with the Warrior Way and as a refresher for our 10th-12th grade students.Today, students had the opportunity to meet teachers, attend workshops and met community members from different resources while they interacted with peers as they also learned about these programs. In addition, our YV Cafeteria hosted a barbecue for all!
We would like to thank the following community resource members who came to YV for our WOW Community Fair:
#MonumentImpact, #CountyConnections, # MDUSDCARESYVHS, #INTERACT, #TUPE, #RAINBOWCOMMUNITYCENTER, #DVCETS&UPPERBOUND, #FAMILYJUSTICE CENTER, #NAMI, #CONCORDPOLICEDEPT, #CONTRACOSTACONCORDLIBRARY, #MDUSDY.E.S., #MDUSDSTUDENTSERVICES AND OUR #YVHSROBOTICSTEAM.
We will conclude our WOW on Monday, August, 19th with a keynote speaker. Students with a 0 period class will begin at 7:20am, all other students will begin with their period 1 class at 8:20am.
Here at YVHS, our goal is to have our Warriors BE READY, BE RESPONSIBLE, SHOW INTEGRITY, that's The Warrior Way!
