Early Life
Marian was 6 years old and in choir at her church. she was very talented but her family could not afford to pay for vocal classes , so her church would raise funds to make for her classes. she was the oldest of three with only their mother after dad's death she was still committed.
Education / Early Career
Giuseppe Boghetti trained her after two years she got a chance to sing at the Lewisohn Stadium in New York. she eventually went on a tour through Europe thanks to a Julius Roseenwald Scholarship. the gifted Contralto singer.

She got to sing the National anthem at the John F Kenedy's inauguration
Became the 1st African American to preform as a member of the Metropolitan Opera in New York City.
