What are we doing?
During table time this week I have done a little assessing of some basic skills and lots of painting. We put up new colors of Mouse Paint. We are beginning to see lots of green in the classroom. The three colors for Mouse Paint were yellow, blue and white. We also used markers of blue, yellow, and green to spray with water and watch the colors spread.
We will begin next week with another Dr. Seuss book and fun table activities with paint and play-dough. Sometimes I look back at my lesson plans and see that I haven't given the children enough chances to be creative on their own. The end of the week I will talk just a little about the Irish. We will find Ireland on the map and I have some funny stories; one about a potato farmer in Ireland and the other about a leprechaun. Some children were curious and talked about seeing decorations or about their parents being excited that it was coming. It is also a great way to add in rainbows.
