You Matter Project and Resource Room Orientation
I've been lucky enough to work with a few classes to get students oriented with the updated resource room and share a project which focuses on valuing what makes each of us wonderful and unique. Before we being the project we talk about "wants" vs. "needs" and show students how the Family Resource Room works. The whole project takes about 45 minutes to an hour. So far the students have enjoyed it, but I have appreciated it probably even more. Most importantly, it's improved the look of the space to reflect the people that we serve. Thank you to the classes who have helped me start this project. My hope is that all classes will get to participate.
If you're interested, let me know a date and time that would work.
Children's Clothing Wanted
We are lucky enough to have acquired several new clothing racks. As a result, our Family Resource Room is expanding its clothing closet. We are looking for gently used clothing for children. If you are looking to unload clothing or know someone who is, please feel free to drop it off in the Family Resource Room. I'll be happy to pick it up also.
You're welcome to share this message with others.
Riverside Gathering Tonight!
Riverside Gathering - Sambousa at School
Thursday, February 16th, 2017
5:00 - 6:00 PM
Please join us for a gathering of families, staff and community partners. There is no agenda here, just an opportunity to gather together, share some food, kindness and conversation to support each other, our families and our students. Feel free to bring your family.
Non-Nutritional Snacks Available
We have received some snacks with minimal nutritional value here in the resource room. If you would like to take them for a special event or treat for students at some point, please feel free to stop by. They are on the counter.
