Calling all Students in Grades K through Grade 12! It's AAA Northeast's Traffic Safety Poster and Video Contest!
Stratford School Students To Take Part In AAA Northeast's Passenger & Pedestrian Safety Program
On April 9th, 2nd through 5th grade students will attend a presentation featuring Otto the Auto, a remote controlled talking car and Bob the Puppet, who help kids learn about passenger safety in cars, pedestrian safety, why they need to sit in the back, and how to behave in the car. Children also learn the basics of parking lot safety, sidewalk safety, and making good choices about where to play. Older elementary students also learn more independent pedestrian skills.
Students Get Ready to "Ticket Your Parents"
In an effort to coordinate an age-appropriate, cohesive, school-wide safe driving campaign the elementary and primary schools will be participating in a program during the month of April called, "TICKET YOUR PARENTS." Kids will have the opportunity to hand out citations to their parents when they violate a safe driving laws. The hope is to raise awareness regarding safe driving practices as child passengers who will someday transition into drivers, themselves. Having students keep an eye out for violations will not only help them to be safer drivers in the future, but also help raise the level of parental awareness regarding their own driving habits and practices.
