A Message from Our Principal
Hey Mashburn,
Please forgive so many emails, but as we have Leader Talk meetings (we have these on Monday, Wednesday and Friday) I want to make sure to communicate any information with you and the information often changes quickly sometimes day to day or hour to hour. Thank you for your patience as I know you have a lot of information to read each day. Information from Leader Talk Today:
Dr. Bearden was very complimentary of how well everyone is doing with on-line learning and all of the Great work through the district, thank you. ItsLearning does seem to begin working better after 9:00 am as some of the other countries are off of the platform at this time. Thank you again for all your work, dedication and continuous willingness to learn and make changes if needed in order to ensure students receive focused, intentional on-line learning to allow them to continue to grow.
Social Media – Language, Photos/Videos, Personal
· Words Matter – please use “Physical Distancing” instead of “Social Distancing” as the term for keeping ourselves separated for safety purposes
· If there are any facebook live posts, we would need to work with Carol Ann to put this on Mashburn’s facebook page
Photos/Videos
- No group video or photos of staff too close (practice physical distancing)
Personal Social Media
- Please limit any posts on your personal social media to lunch time (when you would be having lunch)
- Before school or after school hours
- Be mindful of coronavirus jokes or posts, Be sensitive to everyone
Google Meet, Microsoft Teams
- At this time until we receive further clarification, will you please meet with your whole classroom (this way students are not identified in groups with specific needs). Thank you for conducting class meetings and lessons if this works out for your plans.
- If you are conferencing – please keep these to 1 on 1 meetings with students – i.e. EIP conferences, Special Education segments, and small groups in the classroom (we are working on specific guidelines/expectations for conferencing that we will send out soon, as well as the district is checking into further clarification on meeting with small groups) – hopefully we will have more clarification soon on meeting with small groups
- Tips for Google Meet/Microsoft Teams - as the teacher stay on the conference call until all students have logged off - you be the last person off the meeting, it is beneficial to provide a 1 minute warning to students that they will be logging off, and then provide a 30 second warning for everyone to log off|
Friday Forums
- Teaching and Learning will be providing Friday Forums for teachers – this will be support sessions, 30 minutes in length, providing information to use for instructional planning and on-line assessments- when I receive the specific times for attendance I’ll forward the email.
Thank you and have a great evening,
Carla
