From the Principal's Desk...

Dear Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune Elementary School Family,

As we approach the end of the school year, I would like to emphasize the importance of continuing to learn and READ over the summer. Our Scholars have worked extremely hard this year to reach their reading goals and research shows that if reading is not continued during the summer months, students can experience a drop in 2 or more reading levels.

Our Scholars have the opportunity to continue their learning over the summer at Bethune Elementary by attending Summer Success Scholar Academy June 13 - July 21 from 8:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. and Summer Camp from 1:30 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Please contact the front office for more information! We want all our Kindergarten to Grade 4 Scholars to attend.

Thank you for your continued support and dedication to our school.

Sincerely,
Katrina W. Granger
Principal

Happy Teacher Appreciation Week! Thank you for your hard work and dedication to our students and families at Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune Elementary School. We are truly blessed to have dedicated and committed TEACHERS like you!

National Foster Care Month

National Foster Care Month is a time to recognize that we each can play a part in enhancing the lives of children and youth in foster care. The Children's Bureau, in partnership with Child Welfare Information Gateway, provides resources and tools to help professionals, parents, caregivers, mentors, volunteers, and policy makers find permanent homes and connections for our children and youth in the foster care system.
