Hello CCA Parents,

Thank You for your patience and support of our teachers, staff, and school as a whole during this school closure due to the CoVID-19 pandemic. If at any time, you need assistance, please feel free to contact me and we will do everything in our power to help or direct you to viable resources.

Thank you to all the families who participated in Box Tops for Education. CCA received a bonus check in the amount of $90 for box tops collection and scanning receipts through March 30. This money will be used by Home & School to help pay for busing and field trips.

The email with information regarding the Schoolkidz USA school supply kits was sent out on April 30. This is an optional online ordering service for school supplies for the 2020-2021 school year. The school supplies will be delivered to school in time for orientation night at the end of August. The sale will run from May 1 through June 19.

This will be for all parents in 3K-2nd grade and any CCA basketball players who have uniforms to turn in. Please turn in basketball uniforms & homework in a zip lock bag with your child's name on it.

Registration forms for the 2020-2021 school year can also be dropped off at this time! Please place in an envelope marked Attn: School Office.

Registration for the 2020-2021 school year is now open to all current and new families on a first come, first serve basis.

We recently received information from the Archdiocese that Fr. Mike Dineen is in hospice, and is declining rapidly. I know he worked many years here on the Southside, especially for the benefit of Christ Child Academy. Please keep him in prayers.

If parents or grandparents plan to participate in field trips, work in the lunchroom, coach, or help out at school, you must attend a Safeguarding All God’s Family training through the Archdiocese of Milwaukee. You must register on-line at www.archmil.org and indicate you are associated with Christ Child Academy. If you have not previously been trained, now is a great time to attend a session.

During this school year, Christ Child Academy will be transitioning from a traditional grading system to standards based grading system, which will go into effect for the 2020-2021 school year. The Archdiocese of Milwaukee has strongly recommended that all schools move to this reporting framework.

As we proceed through this transition over the next year, please know that our goal of academic excellence remains our priority. These "best practices" will enable parents to fully understand where their child is academically while at the same time motivating students to become life-learners.

The Parenting Guide to Standards Based Grading will provide valuable insight during this transition. Additional information will be coming in the following weeks.
