Catholic School Board Update
June 27, 2022
If you have taken a look at our Strategic Plan , you may have noted that updates from our school board are one of the objectives under Governance and Leadership. We hope you enjoy hearing from us!
Dear School Families, Teachers and Staff,
April and May have been a time for reflection on the year and tying up loose ends.
The board finalized the staff sick bank policy that enables employees with a medical condition necessitating long term leave to “borrow” up to two weeks of sick leave donated by their colleagues. We are excited about offering a new way to help and retain our wonderful teachers and staff members.
In light of recent tragic events at other schools, the board discussed ways to make the school even more secure. These included additional staff training, a walk-through assessment of the entire school property by local public safety officials, and additional remote control of the CCC doors amongst other things.
The board discussed information shared at the Strategic Planning for Catholic Schools
Conference in April which focused on effective school board practices and development.
Finally, the board reviewed findings and suggestions from the Leader in Me parent-student-staff survey conducted earlier in the spring in anticipation of incorporating these findings going forward. We scored well on this satisfaction survey!
Looking ahead, the June meeting will include the election of school board officers, including President, Vice President, and Secretary positions. June will be the last meeting for Mrs. Hackett as principal and school board members, Erica Schultz and Melissa Engdahl as their terms have concluded. We thank all three for their service to the St. Patrick School community. In July, we will welcome Patrick Burke and Adam Schaefer to the board and Mr. Wiebers as principal!
As always, please feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns.
