May 17, 2023
Dear Saint Peter’s Families and Friends,
Thank you to you for the beautiful cards, gifts and goodies, flowers, and all the love and prayers that I received on Principal’s Day! Thank you for all the wonderful things that you have done for your child’s teacher; we are truly blessed here at Saint Peter’s Catholic School!
Mark your calendars for Sunday, May 21st! We will have an Open House in the school from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. Please bring your families and friends and anyone else who you think might like to see and/or attend our wonderful school.
If you have not completed your enrollment or financial assistance applications for the upcoming school year, we ask that you complete it by next Wednesday. We would like to get tuition and acceptance letters out as soon as possible.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Thank you and God bless,
Ann Feltner
Title 1 Grant Program
Saint Peter’s Catholic School (SPCS) will again be participating in the Title I Grant Program through the Beaufort County School District for the 2023-2024 school year. This participation will provide additional academic services to eligible students and their teachers.
A Title I eligible student is
· Currently enrolled in kindergarten through 6th grade in the 2022-2023 school year
· Resides in the attendance boundaries of a Beaufort County School District Title I school (see list below)
· In need of supplemental assistance to meet grade level academic standards
Title I funds are critical for Saint Peter’s Catholic school. This funding allows us to provide qualifying students with much-needed technology, books, tutoring, and professional development for teachers. These are materials and events that we may not otherwise be able to offer or provide.
In past years, we were able to purchase laptops, desktops, tablets, and other devices, with storage carts, and have them formatted for teacher and student use. We were able to improve and upgrade our technological infrastructure, provide additional summer programs, as well as supplies for PE, and other specials’ areas.

Our caterpillars are growing, they will soon be creating their cocoons. We love checking on them every day to see their progress.
We also continued our Earth unit by learning about what plants need to grow and how to take care of them.
The children had fun exploring our plant themed centers.

In Pre-K4, we had fun learning about graphs, comparing groups, and celebrating 5 de Mayo in PE class.
Pre-K4 worked on crafts to celebrate Mother's Day!
Kindergarten
It was a fun week in K5! We love our time in the library and enjoy reading books. Center time is also a time for us to use our creativity and create things with Play-Doh. We had lots of fun in PE this week too!
1st Grade
The 1st graders honored Mary at the May Crowning, solved word problems, and enjoyed 3 legged races!
The 1st graders identified and counted quarters and enjoyed some free time with their tablets!
2nd Grade
The 2nd grade finished painting their boats for our "Sink or Float" project in Science this week. We will be floating our boats May 16th. We are excited about receiving our First Holy Communion this weekend! A BIG thank you to Mrs. Kat Thompson for making our class beautiful cross cookies with the rosary hanging around the cross. Each cookie looks like an art piece. Thank you so much!
The 5th and 6th graders made First Holy Communion Cards for the 2nd grade students. The second grade was so surprised and excited to celebrate this special time in their lives with 5th and 6th grades. We thank you all for thinking of us and are grateful to you for your thoughtfulness!

3rd grade got a special treat of hearing all about the Civil War. Thank you to Mr. Al and Mrs. Trish! The class learned so much from you!

Students celebrated military connected students by painting a rock to leave at St. Peter's Catholic School. We had a great learning experience with Mr. Al and Ms. Trish at their Civil War encampment.

5th grade students did a Science experiment. Students designed a parachute and expanded the Scientific methods when designing.
5th grade students collected essential items for CAPA as a community service project. They did the readings for the Mass on Thursday. Students studied the Vietnam war and about Space Science. Students visited the adoration chapel, too.
